Competition cheer: 16 locals earn All-Region 4D honors
Sherando had six selections, Handley and Millbrook had four each and James Wood had two as part of the All-Region 4D teams that were released on Monday.
First Team selections are: Sherando: sophomore Isabella Lucchiani, sophomore Payton Cowden, senior Madeline Carper; Handley: senior Dane’’ya Little, sophomore Lucy Gluszak; Millbrook: junior Ella Mannarino, junior Keri Hecker; James Wood: sophomore Madeline Groot.
Second Team selections are: Sherando: junior Makenna Lattin, freshman Shelby Willett; sophomore Emma Rogerson; Handley: sophomore Sophia Carpio, senior Ariyana Brown; Millbrook: senior Ava Mannarino, junior Brookelyn Snyder; James Wood: freshman Sydney Kahle.
Liberty’s Morgan Meredith was named the Cheerleader of the Year and the Eagles’ Katherine Waddle was named the Coach of the Year after guiding the squad to the region title.
