Colonels sweep Sherando in dual
WINCHESTER — The James Wood boys’ and girls’ cross country teams swept Sherando in Northwestern District dual meet action Wednesday.
The Colonels boys won 25-30 and the girls won 25-32.
Leading the way for the James Wood boys were Danny Aldstadt (first in 17 minutes, 36 seconds, Luke Farinholt (third in 18:19), Andrew Shade (sixth in 18:36), Jonny Boler (seventh in 18:47) and Patrick Wilson (eighth in 18:48).
Sherando was paced by James Reese (second in 18:06), Daniel Snapp (fourth in 18:27) and Ryan Hindle (fifth in 18:30).
The James Wood girls were led by Amber Hawkins (first in 20:29), Madeline Long (third in 23:45), Molly Farinholt (fourth in 23:54), Brittany Arnold (fifth in 23:55) and Halle Esparza (13th in 26:17).
Sherando was paced by Nisha Moore (second in 22:43), Haley Powers (sixth in 24:15) and Candice Banks (seventh in 24:33).
