Colonels, Pioneers split dual meet
WINCHESTER — James Wood’s Danny Aldstadt took first place with a time of 17 minutes, five seconds, leading the Colonels to a 23-32 Northwestern District win over Millbrook in Wednesday’s dual meet.
Luke Farinholt (third, 17:39), Andrew Shade (fourth, 18:06), Mark Bohler (fifth, 18:33) and Dylan Wilson (eighth, 18:34) completed James Wood’s scoring five.
Nathan Burgreen paced the Pioneers, finishing as the runner-up with a time of 17:34. Max Bader (fifth, 18:20), Cal Lockley (sixth, 18:26), Tyler Cox-Philyaw (ninth, 18:37) and Bruce Keenan (10th, 18:43) rounded out Millbrook’s top five.
Millbrook’s girls defeated James Wood 21-39, putting four runners in the top five.
Sophia Lee finished as the runner-up in 21:38 to pace Millbrook. Lee, Rylee Learn (third, 21:40) and Nadia Dahimene (fourth, 21:43) finished within five seconds of each other. Katrin Schneider (fifth, 22:07) and Maddie Treiber (seventh, 22:21) completed the Pioneers’ scoring five.
James Wood senior Amber Hawkins took first place, finishing 2:32 ahead of Lee with a time of 19:06. Brittany Arnold (sixth, 22:15), Madeline Long (ninth, 23:23), Molly Farinholt (11th, 24:07) and Halle Esparza (13th, 25:22) rounded out the Colonels’ top five.
