Hawkins 4th at Battle of Potomac
GAITHERSBURG, MD. — James Wood senior Amber Hawkins placed fourth overall at the Battle of Potomac Cross Country Championship at Smokey Glen Farm on Saturday.
Hawkins finished with a time of 19 minutes, 35 seconds, helping Virginia win the the team title in the girls’ seeded division. Virginia swept spots three through eight to defeat Maryland 88-122.
Hawkins, the Northwestern District and Region II champion, finished as the second Virginia runner. There were 59 girls in the seeded race that featured high school runners from Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.
