Amber Hawkins— James Wood — Senior

Finishing fourth overall with a time of 19 minutes, one second at the Group AA state meet, Hawkins is the only area runner (girls or boys) to earn all-state honors this season. She also won both the Northwestern District (19:45) and Region II (18:26) championships. Hawkins, The Star’s Girls’ Cross Country Runner of the Year, set a personal record of 18:19 at the Third Battle Invitational.

Danny Aldstadt — James Wood — Senior

Aldstadt earned All-Northwestern District and All-Region II honors by finishing as the district runner-up (17:10) and taking ninth overall at regionals (16:27). A two-time state qualifier, Aldstadt finished 30th (16:37) in Group AA. He set a new personal record (16:11) at the Third Battle Invitational. Aldstadt finished as the Colonels’ top runner in every race.

Luke Farinholt — James Wood — Junior

Earning All-Northwestern District honors, Farinholt finished fifth (17:51) at the district meet at Handley’s Kernstown Battlefield Course. At regionals at Oatlands, Farinholt set a new personal record (16:43) but narrowly missed qualifying for the Group AA state meet for the second straight year by finishing 17th (the top 15 advance). He was 16th at regionals a season ago.
