CROSS COUNTRY - Glory Days Invitational

MANASSAS — Millbrook senior Tyler Cox-Philyaw won the Glory Days Invitational with a time of 15 minutes, 49 seconds at Bull Run Regional Park on Saturday.

Cox-Philyaw averaged a 5:06 pace in his victory in a field of 244 boys’ runners and 34 teams.

Pioneers junior Alec Schrank came in 19th (16:23). The rest of Millbrook’s top five included Tom Carty (17:28), Brad Hambrick (18:40) and Gabriel Espinoza (18:54). Millbrook placed 17th with 510 points.

James Wood, led by Jacksen Costa (88th, 17:27), placed 26th.

Dulaney won the boys’ title with 80 points, edging runner-up Lake Braddock by one. Our Lady of Good Counsel (127) followed in third.

In the girls’ race, James Wood’s Sophia Dorsey finished 40th (19:59) to pace the Colonels to 29th place.

Millbrook senior Nadia Dahimene followed in 48th (20:06) to lead the Pioneers to 23rd out of 33 girls’ teams.

Lake Braddock won the girls’ title with 49 points. James Madison (75) and Chevy Chase (192) completed the top three. Heritage’s Weini Kelati won the girls’ race in 17:11.
