BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY - Colonels win district mini
WINCHESTER — James Wood scored 37 points to win by 19 points at the second Northwestern District mini on Wednesday at the Third Battle of Winchester course.
Handley — led by individual champion John Delaney (16 minutes, 56 seconds) — was second with 56 points. Sherando was third with 77, Millbrook was fourth with 87 and Skyline was fifth with 114.
Max Lindquist led the Colonels by taking second overall in 17:12. Kevin Konyar (sixth, 17:36), Bryce Ratlief (eighth, 18:00), Nathan Shade (10th, 18:06) and Joshua Arce (11th, 18:10) also factored in James Wood’s scoring. The Colonels also had David Dorsey place 12th in 18:11 and Ben Saupp place 19th in 18:38.
In addition to Delaney, Handley was led by Kevin Heredia (third, 17:24), Brian Tufts (14th, 18:25), Bennett Crow (18th, 18:37) and Edwin Ramirez (20th, 18:41).
For Sherando, Isaac Chapman took fifth in 17:29, Jacob Carr took ninth in 18:03, and Christian Arellano placed 15th in 18:28.
Millbrook was led by John Pullen (seventh in 17:51), Tod Hart (13th in 18:19) and Aaron George (17th in 18:34).
