All-Area Boys' Cross County Team
Alec Schrank
Millbrook — Senior
An all-district, all-region and all-state performer for the Pioneers, Schrank won both the Conference 21 West (16 minutes, five seconds) and 4A West Region (16:07) championships at Kernstown Battlefield. He also posted invitational wins at the Judges Classic (16:17) at Kernstown and at the Glory Days Invitational (16:04) in Manassas. At the Group 4A state meet at Great Meadow, Schrank placed eighth (15:59) to earn all-state honors for the fourth straight year. He set his personal record of 15:34 at the Third Battle Invitational. Schrank will run for the Air Force Academy next fall.
John Delaney
Handley — Junior
An All-Conference 21 West and All-4A West Region performer for the Judges, Delaney placed third (16:44) at the conference meet to lead Handley to the team championship on the Judges’ home course at Kernstown Battlefield. At regionals at Kernstown, he placed 12th (17:05) and he finished 18th (16:27) as the Judges’ lone state qualifier at the Group 4A championship at Great Meadow. He set a PR of 15:51 at the Third Battle Invitational.
Bennett Crow
Handley — Senior
A consistent top-three performer for the Judges, Crow placed eighth (17:32) to earn all-conference honors and help Handley clinch the Conference 21 West team championship at Kernstown Battlefield. He finished 46th (18:08) at the 4A West Regional at Kernstown. Crow notched his PR of 17:15 at the Third Battle Invitational.
Max Lindquist
James Wood — Senior
Lindquist ran consistently as the Colonels’ top runner for most of the season, pacing James Wood with a sixth-place finish (17:23) at the Conference 21 West championship at Kernstown Battlefield. Lindquist also led James Wood at both the Judges Classic and Third Battle Invitationals. He clocked a 16:57 at Third Battle for his PR.
Kevin Kleinegger
Millbrook — Senior
Kleinegger earned All-Conference 21 West honors by placing ninth (17:34) at the conference championship meet at Kernstown Battlefield. He finished 57th (18:27) at the 4A West Region championship at Kernstown. His season PR of 17:14 came on his home course at the Third Battle Invitational.
Kevin Heredia
Handley — Senior
Heredia earned All-Conference 21 West honors by placing fifth (17:18) to help the Judges win the conference championship on their home course at Kernstown Battlefield. At regionals, Heredia finished 20th (17:23) at Kernstown. He posted his PR of 17:14 at Millbrook’s Third Battle Invitational.
Kevin Konyar
James Wood — Junior
Konyar ran consistently as the Colonels’ No. 2 runner for much of the season, earning All-Conference 21 West honors by finishing 13th (17:49) at the conference championship at Kernstown Battlefield. He set a PR of 17:18 at the Third Battle Invitational.
