Konyar paces Colonels to high finish

NEW MARKET — Kenzie Konyar placed second to lead James Wood to a fourth-place finish in the girls’ Varsity Blue Division at the Stonewall Jackson Invitational on Saturday.

Konyar covered the 5K course in 20 minutes, 44 seconds. The Colonels totaled 86 points. Sherando (171) was seventh in the nine team division, which was won by South Lakes (50).

Led by individual winner Skylar Bragg (20:53), Clarke County took second in the 12-team Grey Division with 66 points, behind only Wilson Memorial (25).

Other James Wood scorers: Elena Farinholt (ninth, 22:08); Haley Witt (10th, 22:13.00); Brooke Sandy (26th, 23:19); Shannon Mulvaney (40th, 23:48).

Sherando scorers: Camryn Ubert (17th, 22:42); Lea Aufdenberg (30th, 23:25); Emily Petsko (34th, 23:34); Daisy Conde (45th, 24:25); Olivia Couillard (52nd, 24:47).

Other Clarke County scorers: Keagan Bragg (7th, 23:06); Sydney Jacobson (12th, 24:03); Maeve Lyman (23rd, 25:03); Kateri Thorne (27th, 25:39).
