Colonels reach final hurdle in quest for title
By Tim Tassa -- Daily Staff Writer
FRONT ROYAL — Safety/running back Jordan Dallmann, perhaps the busiest player on the field for James Wood on Friday, didn't mind brushing off most of the credit for the team's success in pass coverage to senior cornerback Doug Stonier.
Against Skyline, and specifically Andrew Thorne, Stonier did most of the manual labor, jamming the area's receiving leader in yardage and touchdowns at the line basically the entire 48 minutes.
It was Dallmann, though, in the Colonels' 27-6 victory in a pivotal Northwestern District clash, who provided the blanket coverage on Thorne, perfecting a game plan that left James Wood at times vulnerable, but frustrated Skyline's offense for the duration of the game.
