WINCHESTER — James Wood senior offensive lineman Chris Alaniz will play football on a full scholarship next year at Norfolk State University, according to Mike Bolin, the Colonels’ head football coach for the past five years before recently resigning.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Alaniz, a right tackle this season, was a three-year starter for James Wood and was a second team All-Northwestern District selection for each of the past two seasons.

The Spartans went 4-7 overall and 2-6 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference this season.

The earliest Alaniz can make his commitment official is on national signing day, which will be Feb. 6.
