Wood golf wins Skyline Invitational

FRONT ROYAL — The James Wood golf team shot a four-player score of 321 Wednesday to win by 19 strokes at the Skyline Hawks Invitational, which was played on the Red and White nines (par-71) at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.

The Colonels’ Roger Repasky claimed medalist honors at the nine-team tournament by besting Brentsville’s Lance Keiser in a playoff after the two had tied for first with a 77 in regulation.

Also scoring for James Wood were Will Holmes (credited for third overall, 78), Taylor Blake (82) and Hunter Hall (84).

Sherando took second (340), Clarke County was fourth (350), Millbrook was sixth (364) and Handley was seventh (375).

The Warriors’ Chris Slater was listed as placing fourth with a 78, and Hunter Gronlund shot an 85.

Clarke County’s Brandon Dang was designated as fifth (82) and Ben Williams had the Eagles’ next best score with an 87.

Millbrook was led by Brian McGuire (86) and Matt Sousa (90) and Handley was led by Jessie Nolan (86).
