From Star staff reports

FRONT ROYAL — Sherando won by one stroke as a team and Warriors sophomore Brett Loy won by one stroke as an individual Tuesday at the first Northwestern District mini at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.

Because of rain, only scores recorded on the White Nine were counted, and because not all teams had their No. 5 seed and No. 6 seed golfers complete nine holes, only the scores compiled by the golfers seeded 1-4 on each team had their scores count.

Sherando recorded a four-player score of 160 to edge Millbrook (161). James Wood was third (170), Handley was fourth (180) and Skyline was fifth (193).

Loy shot a 1-under 34 to lead all individuals, and also scoring for Sherando were Jonah Pearson (39), Mason Scott (42) and Josh Hogue (45).

Jeremy Mills led Millbrook and tied for third overall with a 36. Also for the Pioneers, Ryan McCarty shot a 40, Andy Kim a 42 and Brian McGuire a 43.

James Wood was led by Roger Repasky (second with a 35), and Hunter Hall, who tied for third with a 36. Handley was paced by Colleen Connolly (42) and Jamie Miller (43).
