James Wood’s Repasky Advance To Group 4A State Golf Tournament

FOREST — Sherando sophomore Brett Loy shot a 2-under 70 and James Wood senior Roger Repasky shot a 79 and won a tiebreaker to advance to the state tournament at the 4A North Region Golf Tournament at Ivy Hills Golf Club Monday.
Playing on a very hilly course, Loy chipped in from off the green twice and placed second overall. Repasky finished in a five-way tie for the final qualifying spot (the top six individuals not on the top two qualifying teams advance) and won the tiebreaker.
Due to a late finish, the five players who tied with a 79 — which included Handley’s Colleen Connolly — were not able to play a playoff and instead drew cards for the tiebreaker.
Millbrook senior Jeremy Mills shot a 90 and Handley senior Jamie Miller finished with a 93.
Host Jefferson Forest took first as a team and had the low medalist on the day with a 3-under 69, and Charlottesville took second.
