Sherando Golfers Win District Mini

FRONT ROYAL — Led by Brett Loy’s 1-under-par 70, Sherando won the first Northwestern District mini by 22 strokes Tuesday at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.

The Warriors recorded a four-player score of 311 on the Red and White nines. Mason Scott and Jonah Pearson (78 each, tied for third overall) and Josh Hogue (85) rounded out Sherando’s team score.

James Wood placed second (333), Millbrook third (341), Skyline fourth (361) and Handley fifth (365).

Hunter Hall recorded a 79 and Zac DeNitto shot an 83 to lead James Wood and take fifth and sixth overall, respectively. Ben Marsh (85) and Tyler Mounts (86) rounded out James Wood’s team score.

Millbrook was paced by Ryan McCarty, who took second overall with a 77, and teammate Andy Kim added an 87 for the Pioneers.

Handley was led by Nick Mitchell (84) and Colleen Connolly (85).
