GOLF - Colonels take district mini

FRONT ROYAL — The James Wood golf team won the second Northwestern District mini tournament by four strokes with a four-player score of 166 Monday on the front nine at Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club.

Sherando placed second with a 170, and the Warriors were followed by Millbrook (179), Handley (188) and Skyline (195).

Individually, the Colonels’ Hunter Hall and Doug Watkins shot a 3-over 39 to tie Sherando’s Brett Loy for first. Ben Marsh (42) and Tyler Mounts (46) also shot counting scores for James Wood.

Also for Sherando, Josh Hogue shot a 43, and Jonah Pearson and Josh Bianco each shot a 44.

Ryan McCarty (40) and Joe Eisenhower (45) led Millbrook and Colleen Connolly (44) and Nick Mitchell (45) paced Handley.
