Golf - Skyline Invite

FRONT ROYAL — Brett Loy fired a 3-under par 68 to take medalist honors as Sherando placed fifth at the ninth annual Skyline Invitational scholastic golf tournament on Tuesday.

Loy edged Jefferson Forest’s Isaac Simmons by a stroke over the Red/White Course and Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.

Simmons and the Cavaliers easily won the team title with a 294 total. Loudoun Valley (307), Woodgrove (309), Loudoun County (312) and Sherando (313) rounded out the top five. Clarke County (seventh, 326), Millbrook (tied for 11th, 347), Handley (13th, 351), and James Wood (14th, 368) rounded out the local finishers.

Jonah Pearson (78), Ryan Judy (82) and Josh Bianco (85) joined Loy as Sherando scorers.

Clarke County’s Bryson Peyton tied for third with a 72. Zach Koontz (82), Raul Visa-Fernandez (83) and Dylan Vess (89) rounded out the Eagles scoring.

Andy Kim (81), Tyler Holtsclaw (82), Joe Eisenhauer (91) and Nick Varcadipane (93) paced Millbrook.

Gregg Burton (84), Cody Williams (88), Kyle Kremer (89) and Maddi Neff (90) counted for Handley.

Tyler Mounts (82) and Logan Harper (90) led James Wood.
