FRONT ROYAL — Sherando senior Brett Loy took first place with an even-par 72 on Thursday at the Conference 21 West golf mini tournament at Blue Ridge Shadows.

Woodgrove won the team competition with a four-player score of 319, four strokes better than runner-up Sherando (323). Harrisonburg was third (364), Handley was fourth (371), Millbrook was fifth (373) and James Wood was sixth (378).

Also for the Warriors, Josh Bianco shot a 78 to tie for fourth overall, Jonah Pearson shot an 86 and Brandon Nice recorded an 87.

James Wood’s Tyler Mounts took second with a 75, and Millbrook’s Andy Kim tied for seventh with an 83. Gregg Burton led Handley with an 86.
