James Wood golf places third at Skyline Invitational
FRONT ROYAL — James Wood High School placed third out of 19 teams at the Skyline Invitational with a four-player score of 305 on Tuesday on the Blue and Red nines at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.
Lightridge shot a 300 to edge Jefferson Forest (301) for the team title. Two Lightning golfers — Lucas Hladek and Gavin Hoo Fatt — shared medalist honors with 4-under par scores of 68.
Handley placed 11th with a 334, a season-best score by 17 strokes. Clarke County tied for 12th (335), Millbrook was 15th (346) and Sherando tied for 16th (348).
James Wood leaders: Brayden Rockwell, James Bursey, tied for 7th overall with 74s; Ian Longo 77, Laney Stiles 80.
Handley leaders: Finn Slaughter 76, Nash Sharma 81, Lang Shickle 88, Adam Rosenfeld 89.
Clarke County leaders: Jonah Ziercher 78, Caleb Erickson 82, Emmet Morris 85, Dylan Hoggatt, Cambrie Ferre 90 each to tie for fourth team score.
Millbrook leaders: Tyler Learn 82, Trenton Conley 85, Dylan Reich 85, Aidan Cleary 94.
Sherando leaders: Landon Rust 84, Daniel Hill 87, Timmy Hill 88, Jackson Hepner 89.
