Wood captures city-county golf quad

WINCHESTER — James Wood recorded a four-player score of 161 to win by four strokes in a Class 4 Northwestern District high school golf quad match on Thursday at the Winchester Country Club.

Handley and Millbrook each tied for second with a 165 and Sherando was fourth at 194. The top six golfers all finished within one stroke of each other, with James Wood’s Brayden Rockwell and Millbrook’s Trenton Conley tying for first at 38.

Other James Wood leaders: Jake Bursey, Ian Longo 39 each; Lauren Van Horn, Laney Stiles tied for No. 4 score (45).

Other Millbrook leaders: Tyler Learn 39, Dylan Reich 41, Matt Alban 47.

Handley leaders: Nash Sharma 39, Adam Rosenfeld 41, Lang Shickle 42, Finn Slaughter 43.

Sherando leaders: Jackson Hepner 45, Daniel Hill 49; Landon Rust, Timmy Hill, Peyton Sullivan, Nick Sneddon tied for Nos. 3 and 4 scores with 50 each.
