Volleyball wins, sets up a Sherando rematch

STEPHENS CITY — Sometime during the second game Thursday night, the James Wood High School volleyball team realized it was in a match.
With Brentsville closing in on capturing Game 2 of the Northwestern District quarterfinal, the Colonels knew it was time to regroup.
“The enthusiasm was lacking tonight, definitely,” Wood junior outside hitter Heather Armel said. “That’s something we have to work on. I don’t think we were fired up for the (match) and in the second game we were like ‘Wow, we don’t want to go to four games tonight. We want to win this in three and go home and get rested for the bigger (matches).’”
