Volleyball: Colonels 3, Falcons 2

WARRENTON — James Wood managed to win a non-district game against Fauquier Tuesday despite facing a 2-1 deficit after three sets, trailing by five points in the fifth set, and facing two match points in the fifth set.

The Colonels (15-2), who won their ninth straight game, received 30 kills from Katie Houser, 40 assists from Emilee Payne, 26 digs and three aces from Kelby Jackson, seven blocks from Erica Hepner, and five blocks from Katherine Legge.

James Wood will host its Dig Pink at 7 p.m. Thursday against Millbrook.

The Colonels will auction baskets with themes such as “Golf,” “Fishing,” “Vera Bradley,” and our “Night on the Town” basket, which is valued at over $600. (It includes a limo ride, dinner, wine, and hotel.)

All proceeds from this match will go towards breast cancer research. Over the past three years, JWHS Volleyball has raised over $10,000, and this year the goal is $3,500.
