Wood Volleyball Defeats Fluvanna In Region Quarters

PALMYRA — The James Wood volleyball team defeated Fluvanna County 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 27-29, 25-21) in Tuesday’s 4A North Region quarterfinal match.

The Colonels (24-3) will now take on Jefferson Forest on the road in Thursday’s semifinals at a time to be determined.

James Wood was led on Tuesday by Katie Houser (23 kills), Ashley Hillyard (29 assists), Ally Iden (25 digs and two aces) and Emma Montgomery (three blocks).

Also on Tuesday, Handley (11-9) saw its season come to an end in the 4A North Region quarterfinals with a 3-0 loss to Loudoun County. No other details were reported.
