Colonels Top Warriors In Five Sets

STEPHENS CITY — Leilani Burch, Jessica Putnam and Taylor Heishman combined for 43 kills as unbeaten James Wood outlasted Sherando 18-25, 25-10, 25-18, 22-25, 15-12 in volleyball action on Friday.
Burch led the Colonels (7-0) with 17 kills, while Putnam notched 14 and Heishman added 12. Megan Hillyard dished out 44 assists and added 14 digs. Kate Poppo led Wood with 19 digs and Heishman provided a team-high three blocks.
No statistics were provided for Sherando.
