Raiders sweep Wood in regional volleyball final

LEESBURG — Loudoun County swept James Wood 3-0 in the 4A West Region volleyball championship at Loudoun County High School in Leesburg on Saturday night.
The Raiders (26-2), the four-time defending Group 4A state champions, won 27-25, 25-8, 25-13.
Both Loudoun County and James Wood advance to the Group 4A state semifinals.
James Wood (22-3) will travel to face 4A East Region champ Jamestown (27-1) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Loudoun County will host 4A East Region runner-up Courtland in Tuesday night’s other state semifinal match.
Tuesday’s winners advance to the Group 4A state championship match at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Siegel Center at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
