Volleyball: Class 4 All-Northwestern District

Millbrook sophomore outside hitter Tori Johnson and Handley senior outside hitter Maggie Wise were named co-Players of the Year for the Class 4 Northwestern District in selections that were released on Thursday.

Millbrook’s Carla Milton was a unanimous choice as Coach of the Year after leading her team to the district regular season and tournament championships.

Wise was one of four unanimous first team selections and the only local player among those choices.

Also selected to the first team from the local schools were junior outside hitter Abigail Koeller and senior middle hitter Alexis Weir from Millbrook and junior outside hitter Jessica Putnam from James Wood.

Local second team selections are Millbrook junior setter Jordan Reid, James Wood senior middle Morgan Biggs and junior libero Yeakley Pullen, Handley junior middle hitter Chloe Putnam, right side/defensive specialist Meredith Watts and junior outside hitter Neysha Washington, and Sherando senior outside hitter Liz Dolsen.

Handley had two honorable mention selections — junior setter Caitlin Varela and sophomore libero Tori Stanford.
