James Wood volleyball beats state champ
PURCELLVILLE — The James Wood volleyball team beat defending Class 5 state champion Tuscarora 2-0 en route to posting a 3-1 record in the Loudoun Valley tournament on Saturday.
The Colonels (5-2 record) also beat Osbourn Park 2-1 and Paul VI 2-0. James Wood’s loss was 2-1 to Flint Hill, which went 35-0 last year and is the top-ranked team in the Washington Post Top 10 poll.
James Wood is at Handley at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
