Volleyball: Applemen 3, Colonels 0

Inwood WVa. — Defending Class AAA state champion Musselman swept James Wood 25-18, 25-20, 27-25 in Tuesday night’s non-district match at Cline Court.

Junior middle blocker Hannah Tierney had four kills and five blocks, and junior outside hitter Emily Shannon led the Colonels (5-4) with eight kills.

Senior setter Carly Mullin made 16 assists, and junior Megan Crabtree added 12 digs for the Colonels. Senior Cady Schaffer had 11 digs and five aces, and junior middle hitter Peyton Clark chipped in with five blocks.

The Applemen (10-2) were led by Taylor Jenkins (13 kills), Kortney Jenkins (11 kills), Emily Funkhouser (10 digs, two blocks, three aces, four kills), Taylor Oates (27 assists, nine digs), and Jessica Felicio (four aces).
