Wood sweeps Sherando in volleyball

STEPHENS CITY — Kylee Plumb had 23 assists, 12 digs and two blocks to lead the James Wood High School volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-16) win over Sherando in the Class 4 Northwestern District opener for both teams on Friday.

The Colonels are 2-1 and Sherando is 4-1.

James Wood will host Manassas Park at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Those who attend are asked to wear purple to support Suicide Prevention Awareness Day, which also takes place Tuesday.
