Wood's Patrick, Spaid earn top district volleyball honors

James Wood volleyball coach Adrienne Patrick was named Co-Coach of the Year, and junior outside hitter Kennedy Spaid was named Player of the Year as the Northwestern District teams were announced on Friday.

The Colonels, who won the district title on Tuesday, had two First Team selections in Spaid and Brenna Corbin (Jr.). Kettle Run's Rod Crooks won Co-Coach of the Year alongside Patrick, who won the Coach of the Year award for the third consecutive season. Spaid received the honor for the second straight year, as she was last year's Class 4 Northwestern District Player of the Year.

Accompanying Spaid and Corbin on the First Team is Handley's Breeze Johnson (Fr.), Millbrook's Berkeley Konrady (Sr.), Paisley Cook (So.) and Kate Madden (So.), and Sherando's Helena Ritter (Sr.) and Amanda Ingrassia (Sr.). 

Second Team All-District selections were: James Wood: Kylee Plumb (So.) and Tenley Mattison (Jr.); Handley: Teagan Braun-Duin (Fr.).
