NO BIG CHANGES FOR LOCAL TEAMS IN REDISTRICTING PLAN
February 7, 2012
From Star staff reports
The Virginia High School League Redistricting and Reclassification Committee met on Thursday and released the Initial Proposed 2013-14 and 2014-15 Alignment Plan.
The plan, which is posted on the VHSL website at vhsl.org/classification , is a model only.
The committee acknowledged that initial assignments have been made with the understanding that modifications will be forthcoming.
There are no proposed changes in the Northwestern District, with Handly, James Wood, Millbrook, Sherando and Skyline all remaining in the district.
The only difference will be that Handley is slated to move from Division 3 into Division 4.
The Bull Run District also remains largely unchanged, with the only difference being the addition of Warren County.
Schools seeking modification must file a written request - including rationale for the modification - with the VHSL office by Thursday, Feb 16. The committee will meet on Feb. 27 to consider modifications.
