WINCHESTER- Devon McTavish, a 26-year-old defender for D.C. United and a James Wood High School graduate, is featured in the January edition of the Washingtonian as one of the magazine's 2010 Washingtonians of the Year.

McTavish who just finished his fifth season with United, is being recognized for his work with the Greater Washington DC/Virginia Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). McTavish is also being hailed for his efforts with the D.C. United's charity group, United for D.C., which works with organizations like Habitat for Humanity.

McTavish, who was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2000, was the local honorary chair of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's Greater Washington D.C./ Virginia Chapter's Take Steps Walk on June 5 in Winchester.
