Wood baseball tops Clarke in eight innings

BERRYVILLE — The James Wood baseball team defeated Clarke County 2-1 in eight innings Wednesday in non-district action.

The Colonels (2-2) broke a scoreless tie in the sixth inning, but then saw the Eagles (2-2) score in the seventh on an RBI single from Keith Hummer (2 for 4).

Clarke County had four hits while James Wood had seven. No other details were reported.
