Whitacre Tosses No-Hitter For Colonels

WINCHESTER — James Wood senior pitcher Bryan Whitacre tossed a no-hitter and struck out eight in the Colonels’ 10-0 Conference 21 baseball victory over Park View that was shortened to five innings because of the 10-run rule at R. Charles Hott Field Tuesday night.

Whitacre (2-1) gave up one walk for Park View’s only base runner of the game.

The Colonels (3-3, 2-0 Conference 21) scored five runs in the first, three in the second and two in the third.

James Wood senior Kris Malsch and junior Eli Warren each went 1 for 2 with a double and two runs scored, and senior Zach Thompson went 1 for 3 with two runs scored.
