BASEBALL - Wildcats 8, Colonels 4

FRONT ROYAL — Warren County scored seven runs over the first two innings on its way to a non-district baseball victory over James Wood on Monday night.

The Wildcats scored three runs in the first off Wood starter Joel Smith and added four more in the second.

James Wood scored all four of its runs in the third inning. Cameron Gross and Tyler Matthews each drove in runs, and Cody Polk hit a two-run home run.

Ben Russo went 3 for 4 with a double and scored a run, and Matthews went 1 for 3 for the Colonels (3-4).
