Baseball - Kettle Run 9, James Wood 2

NOKESVILLE — Third-seeded Kettle Run unloaded on No. 6 James Wood for six runs in the first inning and cruised to an opening round win in the Class 4 Northwestern District playoffs.

Joe Vogatsky pitched five shutout innings with 10 strikeouts for the Cougars (12-8), who will play at Millbrook in the semifinals on Tuesday. Vogatsky also had three hits and drove in three runs.
