Gobblers 4, Colonels 2

WINCHESTER — Freshman call-up Addison Barber was impressive in his debut, but unbeaten Broadway edged host James Wood Tuesday night.

Barber (0-1) went the distance for the Colonels (2-11), striking out three and allowing three earned runs on seven hits and two walks.

The Gobblers didn’t score after getting three runs in the top of the first and one in the second, but that was enough support for starter Cameron Smith, who struck out five in 61/3 and surrendered two earned runs.

Cody Vorous hit a solo homer for James Wood in the seventh inning, and Andrew Burnett went 2 for 4 and scored the Colonels’ other run on a Brock Lockhart RBI double in the third.
