Boys' soccer: Handley's Jag Fitzsimmons named district Player of the Year

Handley senior midfielder Jag Fitzsimmons was named the Class 4 Northwestern District Player of the Year to highlight selections announced Friday.

The Judges' Cosmo Balio, who led the Judges to a 17-1 record and a perfect 8-0 mark in the Class 4 Northwestern District, was named the Coach of the Year.

Other Handley players besides Fitzsimmons on the First Team are senior forward Ramon Diaz-Guzman, senior midfielder Dash Fitzsimmons, junior defenders Jackson Justice and Axel Grimaldo, senior defender James Fowler and senior goalkeeper Owen Turnbull.

The First Team also includes Millbrook senior forwards Garrett Johnson and Hamilton Lopez, senior midfielder Christian Nixon and senior defender C.J. Zeller-Bender; James Wood freshman forward Daylin Paige, junior midfielder Owen Swiger and junior defender Seth Rakowski; and Sherando senior forward Owen Wade and junior midfielder Timmy Hill.

Second Team selections are: James Wood: senior forward Colby Fields, sophomore forward Brayden Pineda, senior forward Sam Frigaard, senior midfielder Chris Viera, senior defender Colin Craig; Millbrook: junior forward Will Demus, junior midfielder Joel Vazquez, junior defender Kyle Arthur, sophomore goalkeeper Brandt Upson; Sherando: junior forward Jack Weisbrod; senior midfielder Nick Danielson; senior defender Noah Smith; senior defender Evan Burrell; Handley: senior midfielder Sebastian Moore; junior defender Javier Chavez.
