WINCHESTER- Turner Ashby scored with 2:30 remaining to tie James Wood in its season opener Thursday in a non-district game at Kelican Stadium.
Spencer Marfing scored off a Garrett Hodgson corner kick 15 minutes into the game for the Colonels (0-0-1), and the defensive back line of Josh Marts, Jake Carpenter, Chandler DeHaven and Alex Pate kept the game a shutout until the game's closing minutes.
