WINCHESTER — Millbrook defeated James Wood in the Pioneers’ Northwestern District opener Wednesday at James Wood.
The Pioneers (2-1, 1-0 Northwestern) got singles wins from Dillon Rice (10-7 at No. 2), Sean Franz (10-4 at No. 3), Conner Pierson (10-5 at No. 4), Bradley McGuire (10-3 at No. 5) and Mitch Ulich (10-5 at No. 6).
Millbrook got doubles wins from Chris Wiens and Rice at No. 1 (10-5), Franz and Ulich at No. 2 (10-3) and Pierson and McGuire at No. 3 (10-2).
Mason Beeler of James Wood (0-6, 0-2) won 11-9 at No. 1.
