Sherando top James Wood in boys' tennis

STEPHENS CITY — Sherando won four singles matches and three doubles matches in a 7-2 win over James Wood in Class 4 Northwestern District match on Wednesday.

Singles winners for the Warriors (3-3, 2-3 district) were Keith Robertson (8-5 at No. 2), Tucker Myers (8-6 at No. 3), Joe Venturato (8-0 at No. 4) and Gabe Palmateer (8-3 at No. 5).

In doubles, No. 1 Parker Gregg and Venturato and No. 3 Palmateer and Mathew Clark each won 8-5, and No. 2 Robertson and Myers won 8-1.

Winners for James Wood (2-3, 0-3 district) were Noah Borromeo (8-4 at No. 1) and Jim Ramey (8-6 at No. 3).
