Girls’ Soccer All-Area First Team

Casey Ackerman — Millbrook — Junior — Forward
Ackerman had a team-high 16 goals, best among area public school players, and six assists. She was a Northwestern District first team selection and was second team All-Conference 21.
Emily Denton — James Wood — Sophomore — Forward
Denton was second on the team with 10 goals and tied for second in the area with 11 assists while helping the Colonels to their first district title. She was named to the 4A North Region second team and to the Conference 21 and Northwestern District first team.
Tori Dean — Sherando — Junior — Forward
Dean finished with a team-high seven assists and was second on the Warriors with 11 goals. She was selected to the Conference 21 first team and was one of two unanimous Northwestern District first team members.
Megan Norton — SVCA — Senior — Midfielder
Norton finished with an area-best 29 goals and tied for second with 11 assists while leading the Patriots to both the VACA and NACA championships. Norton was named the VACA Player of the Year and the NACA Offensive MVP.
Alex Stanford — James Wood — Junior — Midfielder
Stanford became James Wood’s first outright Northwester District Player of the Year after scoring a team-high 14 goals to go along with 11 assists and leading the Colonels to their first ever district title. She was named to the Conference 21 first team.
Madai Guzman — Handley — Senior — Midfielder
Guzman scored five goals and had three assists and helped the Judges win the inaugural Conference 23 Tournament. She was named to the 4A North Region second team and to the Conference 23 and Northwestern District first team.
Mandy Fogarty — Sherando — Senior — Midfielder
Fogarty totaled four goals and tied for second on the team with six assists. She was a Northwestern District first team member and was selected to the Conference 21 second team.
Allie Turner — Clarke County — Junior — Defender
Turner was the leader of a defense that posted nine shutouts and allowed an average of just 1.8 goals per game. The sweeper was named to the 2A East Region and Bull Run District first teams.
Taylor Hicks — Millbrook — Junior — Defender
Hicks helped the Pioneer defense allowed one goal or fewer nine times over the course of the season while score once and totaling four assists. She was a Conference 21 and Northwestern District first team selection.
Alysse Hamm — Millbrook — Senior — Defender
Hamm was a key member of a Pioneer defense that tallied five shutouts and allowed less than two goals per game. She was named to the Northwestern District first team.
Ellie Volinsky — Handley — Senior — Goalkeeper
Volinsky was the last line of defense for a Judges defense that shut out nine opponents, including six straight at one point, and allowed just 0.8 goals per game. She made 163 saves on the season and was named to the 4A North Region, Conference 23 and Northwestern District first teams.
Jessie Ambrosio — Clarke County — Junior — Goalkeeper
Ambrosio finished with an area-best 205 saves over 20 games and had nine shutouts. She was selected to the 2A East Region and Bull Run District first teams and helped the Eagles reach the region quarterfinals.
