Girl's Soccer Colonels 2, Wildcats 1

WINCHESTER— Brianna York’s penalty kick in the 65th minute lifted the James Wood girls’ soccer team to a 2-1 win in a Northwestern District season opener Wednesday night.
The Colonels out-shot the Wildcats 15-4 but trailed after Warren’s Hannah Oakes scored in the 16th minute off an assist from Lena Richards to break the Wildcats’ career scoring record with 20 points.
Katie Spencer knotted the game in the 27th off an assist from Stacy Cline.
