All-Area Girls' Soccer First Team

Danielle Toone

Clarke — Senior Forward

Toone had an area-high 40 goals and added 11 assists. Named Player of the Year by Class 2 State, Region 2B, Bull Run District, and Winchester Star. Will compete at Longwood.

Amanda Kesler

Handley — Senior Goalkeeper

Kesler had 8 shutouts and 5.1 saves per game as Handley held opponents to 1.2 goals per game. Region 4C and Class 4 Northwestern District 1st team. Will compete at William Smith.

Jessica Poole

Sherando — Junior Defender

Poole helped Sherando limit opponents to 22 goals, the third fewest in a season in school history. Region 4C and Class 4 Northwestern District 1st team.

Sydney Staples

Clarke — Senior Midfielder

Staples had an area-high 20 assists and added 12 goals. Class 2 all-state, Region 2B and Bull Run District 1st team. Will compete at Lehigh.

Emma Ricci

Handley — Sophomore Forward

Ricci had a team-high 32 goals and tied for the team lead with 9 assists. Region 4C 1st team. Class 4 Northwestern District 1st team.

Sherando — Freshman Forward

Lincoln had a team-high 30 goals and 9 assists. Region 4C 1st team. Class 4 Northwestern District Co-Player of the Year.

Katie Padgett

Wood — Junior Forward

Padgett had a team-high 23 goals and 18 assists. Region 4C 2nd team. Class 4 Northwestern District 1st team.
