Girls' soccer: James Wood 3, Millbrook 1

WINCHESTER — Senior McKenna Newcome scored her first two goals of the season to help James Wood to a Class 4 Northwestern District win over Millbrook on Thursday.

McKenna's first goal came four minutes into the game off an assist from her freshman sister DeLaney. McKenna also scored on a 25-yard free kick that bounced off a Millbrook defender and into the net. Freshman Ava Manzo also scored her first goal of the season off an assist by Jolie Jenkins.

The Colonels are 4-0 (2-0 district) and the Pioneers are 1-2 (1-2).
