WINCHESTER — Handley defeated James Wood in its season and Northwestern District opener Tuesday at James Wood.
The Judges (1-0, 1-0 Northwestern) received singles wins from Meredith Watts (10-8 at No. 1 over Ashley Hillyard), Jamie Miller (10-1 at No. 2), Maddy Skedsvold (10-1 at No. 3), Maggie Wise (10-1 at No. 4), Emma Foster (10-3 at No. 5) and Josie Sydnor (10-2 at No. 6).
The Colonels are 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the district.
