Softball: Colonels 4, Judges 0

WINCHESTER — James Wood junior Kierstyn Peacoe allowed just one hit and struck out 12 in a Northwestern District softball win over Handley Tuesday night.

Peacoe (3-3) outdueled Handley starting pitcher Hannah Lockhart, who allowed just one earned run in the loss.

Rachael Largent had a double and scored a run, and Taylor Rizzari scored a pair of runs for the Colonels (4-4, 3-1). McKenzie Garrett had a single for Wood.

James Wood coach Ted McDaniel said junior Sara Hoover broke her ankle sliding at home and will miss the rest of the season.

Logan Gallogly had the Judges’ lone hit.
