SOFTBALL - Eagles 11, Colonels 10
BERRYVILLE — Allie Hicks went 2 for 3 and drove in four runs to lead Clarke County to a non-district softball win over James Wood at Grubbs Field on Saturday.
Hicks connected on a three-run homer in the Eagles’ six-run fourth inning, and Lexi Call (2 for 3 with three RBIs) also drove in a run to extend Clarke’s lead to 10-2 after four innings.
Carrie Gibson (2-0) got the victory, allowing four runs through 41/3 innings. She struck out one.
James Wood rallied, scoring three runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and then four in the seventh. Clarke County’s Sarah Miller got the final two outs for her first save.
