SOFTBALL - Colonels 5, Bulldogs 4

LURAY — James Wood scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally from a 5-4 deficit and defeat Luray in a season-opening non-district game Tuesday.

The Colonels (1-0) were led by Lindsey Anderson (3 for 4 with two RBIs) and Taylor Rizzari (2-4 with 3 RBIs). Starting pitcher Lani Spielman went 31/3 innings and struck out seven batters, and reliever Lauren King struck out six in 32/3 innings.
