Colonels Softball Routs Pioneers, 11-1

WINCHESTER — Alyssa Brown went 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and an RBI to lead James Wood to an 11-1 Conference 21 a Northwestern District softball victory over Millbrook that was shortened to five innings because of the 10-run rule on Saturday.

Courteney Harper went 2 for 3 with a double and drove in two runs, and Lani Spielman went 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles for James Wood (13-5 overall, 4-2 conference, 5-2 district).

Laura Gates also went 2 for 3 with a double and drove in a run for the Colonels.

James Wood freshman pitcher Lauren King allowed two hits and struck out six through five innings to get the victory.
